MBDA signs contract to supply more Marte ER anti-ship missile to Qatar

DIMDEX 2018 (Doha, Qatar) – MBDA has signed today a contract to supply the Qatar Emiri Air Force (QEAF) with missiles for their new NH90 helicopters. MBDA in particular will be equipping the naval NFH (NATO Frigate Helicopter) multi-role helicopters with Marte ER anti-ship missiles (the Extended Range version of the Marte missile).

Marte ER was already chosen by Qatar 2 years ago as one of the two ammunitions of the brand new coastal defence system that MBDA is supplying to the Qatar Emiri Naval Forces to support their 2022 vision.

Antoine Bouvier, CEO of MBDA, commented: “This contract is a further confirmation of the trust placed by the Qatar Armed Forces in MBDA for its defence requirements. It is proof of MBDA’s capability to address the most stringent and diverse customer requirements and a confirmation of the value of the solutions offered by the Company to meet its customer needs.”

Pasquale Di Bartolomeo, Executive Group Director Sales & Business Development MBDA and Managing Director MBDA Italia, commented: “With this contract MBDA confirms its success in proposing the multi-platform nature of the Marte ER missile: not only the ground based and helicopter variant so far procured by Qatar, but also for naval units and fast jets applications”.
